TaTanya Todd is a wife, parent, entrepreneur, and the founder of Leading Youth to Victory
(LYV). Her most notable accomplishment, and greatest source of pride, is raising her ten
children alongside her husband for the past 22 years. She began her career at the USDA Forest
Service, starting as a budget analyst and later transitioning to a role as a computer networking
specialist. It was at Strayer University, where she earned her Bachelor's degree in computer
networking, that her life truly began – she met her husband and the two embarked on a journey
that would lead them to both establish a family and launch Ladders & Things, LLC. This venture
not only provided employment opportunities for local youth but also laid the foundation for their
own growing family. As a parent of ten, TaTanya Todd deeply understands the importance of a
supportive church community and a nurturing environment where young people can thrive.
Driven by this passion, she founded LYV, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering
youth by providing a positive and enriching environment while preparing them for successful
future careers.

of Prince George’s County Public schools for over 40 years. She graduated from the University
of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Education Degree. She majored in
Business Education with a minor in Business Administration. Her education continued with a
Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. She served as
a teacher for grades 9-12 within the middle and high school arena. After over 17 years of
teaching, she moved into the area of administration. She then continued her career as an
assistant principal in a middle school and within 7 years as a principal of an elementary school.
During her role as principal her school’s test scores were the first or second highest among the
other schools within her region in Reading and in Math on the Maryland State Assessment. This
accomplishment earned her school an autonomy status giving her and her staff more flexibility to
carry out their school plan and mission based on the needs of their students. Her community of
stakeholders were able to keep this momentum until she retired. Dr. Stroman attributed that
success to the excellent communication and positive working relationship between all
stakeholders. Although retired she still volunteers her time to provide support and guidance for
programs that seek to foster positive outcomes for our future leaders.
